Founded in 1985 by Academy Award nominee, Robert Bilheimer, Worldwide Documentaries, Inc. is an award winning, not-for-profit film production company. Focusing on subjects of social, cultural, and humanitarian concern, Worldwide Documentaries has earned a reputation, over a period of twenty-three years, of producing and distributing select film projects of the highest quality.

Worldwide Documentaries’ productions include:

  • Cry of Reason
    A feature-length documentary that tells the story of South African anti-apartheid leader Beyers Naude, for which Bilheimer received an Academy Award® nomination.
  • I’m Still Here: The Truth About Schizophrenia
    A feature-length documentary about individuals and families coping with this serious mental illness.
  • Beckett Directs Beckett: Endgame
    A film version of Samuel Beckett’s masterpiece, staged by the author, for the San Quentin Drama Workshop, and directed by Bilheimer. Produced and distributed by the Smithsonian Institution Visual Press.
  • A Closer Walk
    A feature-length documentary about humankind’s confrontation with the global AIDS epidemic. Released in 2003, A Closer Walk has been described as a “masterpiece” by film critics around the world. With an audience that continues to grow, it has already been seen by nearly 500 million people in theatres, in community and educational settings, and on TV networks worldwide.

  • Not My Life
    A feature-length documentary film that comprehensively depicts the global affliction of modern-day slavery and human trafficking.
